Space Slug – Entry

Name: Space Slug

Alias: Exogorth

Alignment: Instinct

Genders: Both (See Description)

Diet: Minerals (and Metals and Radiation)

Variant: Varying (Camoflagues to the astroid’s or anything else’s coloration)

Description:

The silicon-based lifeform called space slugs look more like grubs with a tougher skin that have a more moose-like mouth but full of sharp teeth, with sensory slug eyes sticking out from the sides directly behind the mouth. Exogorths live out in space, particularly in asteroids, burrowing and feeding on the minerals (and also feed/soak-up radiation waves if available). Theses aliens just keep growing and growing; they have no maximum size at all. Since they can get so big, they sometimes have entire (normally parasitic) ecosystem that just lives inside the tunnel-like through and crop (the place where food is first stored, later on being pushed through the flesh to the stomach).

Once the space slugs are adults, the exogorth larvae’s bodies begin growing in the gumline(s) and the fleshy roof of the (upper) jaw. When the adult dies, the babies begin to make an extremely hard (like rock hard) egg casement for themselves. Thus, the babes live, until the eggs encounter radiation, there the lifeforms will then start breaking themselves out from the encasement. Like the microscopic “water bears” or triops, they can live dormant in their shell for thousands upon thousands of years.
